The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), a state statute that went into effect on January 1, 2020, is designed to enhance privacy rights and consumer protection for residents of California.
The intentions of the Act are to provide California residents with the right to:
The PerimeterX Platform is fully compliant with the CCPA for three main reasons: (1) the limited data that it processes, (2) the extensive compliance efforts it undertook in connection with the GDPR and (3) the fact that PerimeterX does does not sell any personal information as defined by the CCPA. PerimeterX generally does not process any data that relates to a person or household that PerimeterX could identify. While the CCPA and GDPR are different in many respects, the comprehensive PerimeterX compliance plan to comply with the GDPR was easily altered in order to ensure that the PerimeterX Platform fully complies with the CCPA. Finally, PerimeterX does not sell any personal information.
In addition, customers can use the PerimeterX Platform as part of a strategy to help ensure CCPA compliance for their web applications. In fact, up to 70% of a website is built using third-party code, making it difficult for businesses to monitor and audit for CCPA vulnerabilities and risks. PerimeterX Code Defender is a comprehensive client-side application security solution for your website. It uses behavioral analysis and advanced machine learning to automatically detect vulnerable scripts, suspicious PII access and data leakage from your users’ browsers. It can help reduce the risk of data breaches and help ensure compliance with data privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
